Owner & President, Wearer of Many Hats
Born and raised in a small farming community in central Michigan, Dina spent her younger years entertaining her eight older brothers and sisters and mother by singing and dancing on the living room sofa, her specialty, of course, advertising jingles. Later as a student at Ferris State University, she first attained an Associates Degree in Technical Illustration and quickly decided that drawing exploded views of carburetors was not her cup of tea. She later graduated with a B.S. in Business with an Advertising major. She then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan where she worked simultaneously for the Grand Rapids Press and the Grand Rapids YMCA.
Dina met her future husband, Andy, at a YMCA conference in Wisconsin and a short time later decided to call Wisconsin Rapids home. While living in Wisconsin Rapids, she worked with the Daily Tribune and the United Way of South Wood County – again, balancing her time between the non-profit and publishing worlds. After taking a few years off to procreate as well as reside in and travel throughout the Eastern United States, Dina and her family decided to settle down in beautiful Door County.
Once in Door County, Dina took a position with Door County Magazine and in 2005, with the encouragement of friends and colleagues, branched out on her own to form Boettcher Communications.
Dina, Andy and their two daughters, Alex and Izzy, now live in the historical district of Sturgeon Bay where Dina enjoys putzing in the yard and drinking wine on the porch.
A firm believer in giving back to her community, Dina sits on the Board of Directors of United Way of Door County, Sturgeon Bay Visitor Center and founded Door County Women in Business in 2009. She believes in art as a form of personal expression and growth and is an active volunteer and supporter of the visual and performing arts organizations in the county.
