A Door County boy through and through, Mike grew up in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin where he attended Sevastopol schools. When he wasn’t roaming the land – fishing, camping and biking – he was helping out his grandpa on the family farm. Mike credits those early years of tending cows and driving tractors to instilling in him a hardy work ethic that remains strong today.

While still enrolled in high school, Mike participated in the Youth Apprenticeship Program where he was assigned to work with the Door County Advocate. While with the Advocate, he worked in every department, learning the ins and outs of the publishing and printing industry. Upon graduation, young Mike enrolled in the Press Technician Program at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. After graduation, Mike found himself back at the Advocate, working in the Graphic Design department.

Recognizing the fact that online communications were the way of the future, Mike soon enrolled in web design courses at NWTC. He joined Boettcher Communications in February 2008 and now coordinates the web development portion of the company.

Mike is currently living in Sturgeon Bay, still loves to camp and fish but has added travel and entering “Best Legs in a Kilt” contests to his list of favorite activities.
